Directions
You Will Need: Ingredients: 2 large eggs; 6 tablespoons unsalted butter; 8 oz. package cream cheese softened (1 cup); 1 egg yolk. Baking Tools: 2 bowls & spoon (or fork); 9x9 pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease (or use cooking spray) the bottom of a 9x9 square baking pan. In a medium bowl, melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter. The butter should be melted but not boiling. Tip: Place butter in a microwave safe dish, cover with a paper towel to prevent spattering, and microwave for about 40 seconds. In the same bowl, blend together the melted butter, 2 large eggs, (1) cane sugar, (2) vanilla powder, (3) salt and (4) baking powder until smooth, fluffy, and lightens in color. Stir in the (5) chocolate chips, (6) cocoa, and (7) flour. Mix well, until no flour is visible. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pan. In a small bowl, stir the yolk of one large egg, softened cream cheese, (8) vanilla powder, and (9) cane sugar and blend until smooth. Picky eater? Make everyone happy! If someone doesn't want cheesecake topping, leave it off a portion of the brownie batter, or leave it out entirely. If needed, adjust the amount of cheesecake batter on the remaining part of the brownie batter. To create the marble effect, spoon the cheese-cake mixture onto the brownie batter starting with the 4 corners of the pan. Cover the top with about 6 to 9 dollops. Using a spoon, table knife, or spatula, swirl the cheesecake dollops in a zigzag pattern, first horizontally, then vertically until desired effect is achieved. Bake for 30 for 40 minutes. Check if done by inserting a toothpick into the center of the pan. If it come out clean, it is done. If batter clings to the toothpick, it needs more time. Let cool for 5 minutes, then enjoy! Tips and Suggestions: High altitude cooking: you may want to increase the oven temperature. Using canola or vegetable oil: replace with butter with 6 tablespoons of oil. For a low-fat version: replace the butter with 5 tablespoons of applesauce. Vegetarian and Vegan: replace the butter with 6 tablespoons of canola or vegetable oil, and replace the egg with egg replacer.
